About Liliana

I am a reporter from Lima, Peru. I just obtained my Master's Degree in Journalism at the University of California, Berkeley. I received my Bachelor's Degree from Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru.

During my time in Lima, I worked as a writer and reporter for different outlets at a national level, including El Comercio newspaper and Caretas magazine. In English, my work has been published by The Associated Press, Los Angeles Times and San Francisco Chronicle.

Today I am concentrating on developing the skills needed in 21st century journalism, in hopes of creating compelling storytelling in the format better suited for each subject.

I am professionally proficient in Spanish, English and Portuguese. I write about everything, but my main interests lie in sport and its most humane, social and cultural side, as well as the economic, commercial and geopolitical side of its administration.

I have spent years pursuing opportunities in as many beats as possible, recognizing that sports is a subject that often intersects with topics from business to international to social issues.

Being a print correspondent for El Comercio in the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympics, and a reporter for AP following the aftermath of the event, provided an opportunity to further that experience.
